{"id":98,"date":"2013-11-02T12:06:07","date_gmt":"2013-11-02T19:06:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.ubc.ca\/assess4civl\/?page_id=98"},"modified":"2016-11-04T17:46:51","modified_gmt":"2016-11-05T00:46:51","slug":"ceab-indicators","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/blogs.ubc.ca\/assess4civl\/ceab-indicators\/","title":{"rendered":"Civil Engineering Program Indicators"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>What are Program\u00a0Indictors?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Indicators describe what students must do to be considered competent respecting a CEAB attribute.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What is the purpose of a Program\u00a0Indicator?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>An indicator\u00a0sets a pre-determined standard used to evaluate learning, and aligns with specific assessment criteria associated with courses within a program.<\/p>\n<p><strong>How were the Civil Engineering Program Level Learning Indicators developed?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In 2012, an initial set of indicators was developed\u00a0after a thorough review of Indicators from other programs in Canada and the United States, and with reference to the UBC-CIVL 2009 Program-Level Objectives. \u00a0At approximately the\u00a0same time, a faculty-level committee created a UBC-generic list of indicators. \u00a0The two sets of indicators were conflated and presented to a CIVL department sub-committee, which further refined the list.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Can we change the indicators?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Yes. \u00a0But for the 2020 report, we are not intending to review the indicators. \u00a0Once we get more experience working with the indicators\u00a0and how they can connect with courses, then we can review and improve.<\/p>\n<p>If you disagree and would like to be part of an ad hoc committee charged with revising the indicators, please contact Bernard Laval.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>What are Program\u00a0Indictors?
