Fundamental values of academic integrity<\/a><\/h3>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\">To start, the six fundamental values of academic integrity (from the International Center for Academic Integrity, ICAI) are briefly described.\u00a0 These apply not only to students, but also to faculty, administrators, and institutions.<\/p>\n<h3><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.ubc.ca\/assessmentguidebook\/academic-integrity\/academic-integrity-background\/\">2. Academic misconduct by the numbers<\/a><\/h3>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\">This section summarizes academic misconduct by the numbers reported in the literature to address just how significant an issue academic misconduct is.\u00a0 Also discussed is what the literature reports in terms of student perceptions of academic misconduct.<\/p>\n<h3><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.ubc.ca\/assessmentguidebook\/academic-integrity\/the-fraud-model\/\">3. A misconduct framework<\/a><\/h3>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\">The fraud model has been widely used as a framework for describing academic misconduct and is presented in this section.\u00a0 This helps to understand the factors that lead to misconduct, and, conversely, the elements we can work on to enhance academic integrity.<\/p>\n<h3><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.ubc.ca\/assessmentguidebook\/academic-integrity\/strategies-for-promoting-academic-integrity\/\">4. Enhancing academic integrity<\/a><\/h3>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\">Here concrete steps for promoting academic integrity (i.e., mitigating misconduct) are described.\u00a0 They draw from the framework from the previous section.<\/p>\n<h3><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.ubc.ca\/assessmentguidebook\/academic-integrity\/remote-proctoring\/\">5. Remote proctoring tools<\/a><\/h3>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\">Where high-stakes exams are required in a course remote proctoring might be required.\u00a0 This section summarizes some of the tools available, from Zoom monitoring to dedicated tools.<\/p>\n<h3><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.ubc.ca\/assessmentguidebook\/academic-integrity\/remote-proctoring-tips-and-suggestions\/\">6.
