Tuesday | Thursday |
Discussion based on readings and that weeks questions and learning objective. May include guest lecturer. | Divided into 2 parts (Flexible time ratio based on the discussion points) :
Case study discussion for that particular week. (~55 minutes). For seminarians to present (one presentation per person in the term) on their findings that consolidate their learning from that week with reference to their own concentration country (~20 minutes). |
All seminarians will have to submit online at least one question that they would like to explore or discuss in class from that weeks reading, to us (the facilitators) by Monday evening. On Tuesday we will start the class by presenting the questions (organized according to the learning goal of that week) and using them to create the flow of discussion, adjusting it based on the responses.
On Thursday, we will be discussing the case study material (scholarly article of the guest lecturer, video, podcast, graphic, non-scholarly article, government or business report, website) for the first 50 minutes of the class.
The second part of this class time will be dedicated to a presentation on a concentration country.
- A presentation (Not READING) on your blog content that you have related to that specific week. For example, if it’s a week when we are discussing agents of development specifically international organizations, and your concentration country is India, you may present on the result of structural adjustment plans’ effect on development concerns from the “Development History” section or “Background” section of your blog.
- This is a chance for you to share the content of your research and to ensure you are up to date with taking the material and applying it to your case for your final Development Project Proposal.
