Hi there!
My name is Avery Bramadat, but those close to me call me Aves. This is my introduction for the course LAST303 with Professor Mitchell. I’m thrilled about this course – it’s about food, who wouldn’t be? – and can’t wait to learn more about Latin American cultures, which have always fascinated me.
I am in fourth-year and am taking my time with school, trying to get as much out of life outside classes as I possibly can. I currently reside in Whitehorse, Yukon Territory and am a born-and-raised- Yukoner. When I’m not studying I’m hiking, trail running and mountain chasing. Below, and in my header, you’ll find photos of my beautiful backyard.
Thanks for joining me!

Aves has a nice bilingual resonance with Spanish 🙂 Thanks for posting!
P.S. I have backyard envy!

Hi Avery!
We were in the breakout room together during our class zoom meeting last week, so I thought I’d visit your blog to leave a comment:) The picture you posted is so beautiful–I’d love to have a chance to visit the Yukon someday! I totally get what you’re saying about taking time to enjoy life outside of classes. This is my first semester back after taking a bit of a break to work, so I’m happy to be back at school but I’ll continue to try and get in the outdoors more often as well! If you have any hikes that you’ve done in the lower mainland I’d love some recommendations! I really look forward to getting to know you more! See you around:)
