In western society, yoga is often misrepresented as a purely physical practice. But yoga, like teaching, is a way of being. The practice happens both on, and off, the mat.
In yoga, jnana is sanskrit for “knowledge or wisdom.” Jnana yoga is the act of finding insight through practicing meditation, self-inquiry, and contemplation.
In teaching, inquiry is the practice of asking questions around education through making space for observation, reflection, and learning.
In many ways, teachers who practice inquiry are already practicing yoga.
Off the Mat is a blog series sharing the yoga practice that happens, off the mat.
