*Because the conference takes place between UBC’s academic terms, some on-campus businesses have limited opening hours, especially early mornings and weekends. Light breakfast and mid-morning refreshments will be available at the conference with registration.

Salishan Catering

Salishan Catering will be providing some meals and refreshments with conference registration. These include:

  • A light breakfast before the first sessions on all three days (2, 3, and 4 May). Breakfast will include coffee, tea, and fruit each day. The other food choices will be vary, including breakfast wraps and sandwiches on bannock, baked goods, and mini quiches and frittata.
  • A mid-morning nutrition/coffee break on all three days (2, 3, and 4 May). The break will include coffee, tea, and baked goods.
  • If you registered by 15 April and indicated your preference for a box lunch on 3 May, this has been ordered as indicated on your registration form.

Reception

The evening reception on 2 May will take place at Koerner’s Pub. This is open to all conference delegates.

  • Light fare (tacos) will be provided.
  • Cash bar.
  • The kitchen will be open if you would like to order other food.

  • Open 24/7! Gage Market (Walter Gage Residence, 5959 Student Union Blvd). Self-checkout market; enter and pay credit card. Includes sandwiches, snacks, convenience items, things you forgot at home, and more. Especially convenient for those staying in Gage/West Coast Suites on-campus accommodation.

In the AMS Nest (6133 University Blvd). Note: a number of outlets in the Nest will not be open on weekend days.

  • Loafe (Alumni Centre location: 6163 University Blvd; Sauder location: 2053 Main Mall). Coffee, drinks, sandwiches, salads, baked goods, and more. Both locations include indoor and outdoor seating; outdoor space is covered at the Sauder location.
  • DaBao (IK Barber Learning Centre, 1961 East Mall). Bao, dim sum, tarts, bubble tea, and more.
  • Harvest Market (Ponderosa Commons, University Blvd at West Mall). Salads, sandwiches, fruit, snacks, take-out meals, and basic groceries.
  • The Corner Store (6200 University Blvd, next to the bookstore). Grab and go market.
  • Triple O’s (2015 Main Mall). Known for burgers.
