I am a senior instructor in the Department of Statistics at UBC. Prior to arriving at UBC in 2005 I held positions at the universities of Nottingham and Derby in England, my native country. My students days were at York (England, not Ontario), Sheffield and finally the University of London for my PhD in probability theory. After several years pursuing a traditional research-oriented academic career, I decided my interests resided in education and pedagogy. So far I have taught over thirty different courses in the areas of Mathematics and Statistics.
When not working, I enjoy my time with my young daughter. I am also an avid follower of my home-town soccer club, Blackpool FC, who are currently in the English Premier League.
