HELLO AND WELCOME
This is an English 419 Book Blog – here you will find the culmination of one semester’s worth of learning, researching, and journalling at the University of British Columbia. Specifically, English 419 at UBC is concerned with The History of the Book, and so my chosen research item is a first edition collection of John Donne poetry, published in 1633. It can be found at the Rare Books and Special Collections Library located in the Irving K. Barber Learning Centre. Its complete title reads as follows:
“Poems / by J.D. ; vvith elegies on the authors death”
DISCLAIMER
Blogging is not my medium. In fact, there must be at least two school related and two personal blogs floating around in the deep space of the internet, devoid of readership or any authorial TLC. And they’re all my doing. Because to me, an avid reader/everything analog fanatic, blogs just don’t make sense, and after a little while (two days) I entirely forget about them and the commitment I made to my readership myself. In short, blogs are very much not my medium.
This is my medium (and also my Research and Reading Journal for this class).
Yup. Not only is this my journal from the class that would have me use a blog, but I even added loose sheets of paper and photos to the pages, to make reading it extra difficult (or fun, if you’re me). It’s like a challenge – if you can get to the end of it and understand the content, you have succeeded. Unfortunately, I don’t think the same thing can be said for this blog, because I have no idea what I am doing.

You’ve been warned.
