Gymnosperms
The gymnosperms are a group of organisms which are seed plants. This group of organisms do not have their seeds enclosed within a carpel (as in the anthophytes).
The phyla generally considered gymnosperms have been outlined in lecture. Many of them are extinct, but there are still a number of them which you can find in various parts of the world.
