I am a high school Chemistry teacher in British Columbia, and this is my sixth year teaching IB Chemistry here. ETEC 540 is my final course in the MET journey!<\/p>\n<p>I am originally from Tanzania, East Africa, but came to Vancouver in 2008 to attend UBC for my BSc. Vancouver has now become my home, but I hold my Indian heritage and East African upbringing with me. While doing the tasks for this course, I have been reflecting on the languages I speak vs. those I understand vs. those I write. I speak English, Gujarati, Swahili and Hindi. I used to be kind of fluent in French, but I&#8217;ve lost the fluency now. I can also read and write in all of these languages.
