As an educator, I aim to assist learners in applying their knowledge and skills to new situations and challenges by promoting an understanding of the world that is flexible and long lasting.

Volunteer Health Education Program Coordinator
  • Collaborated with two Indian NGOs and a local hospital to assess and address health and sanitation needs of the nearby quarries and the Lovedale Foundation’s primary school
  • Designed a 6 month pilot program for health and sanitation education in one quarry town, producing all necessary materials, enhancing hand washing in the region
  •  Installed new taps and pipes, supplying the pilot quarry with adequate water supply
  • Created health and hygiene teaching units for the primary school, training local teaching staff and overseeing successful implementation of the program
Meg Foundation/Kinamba Project (Kigali, Rwanda) Feb. 2009 – Aug. 2009
Project Administrator and Primary Teacher- Grade 2
  • Organized learning based activities and games, promoting tactile development in a group of 25 students
  • Collected and distributed school fees, prepared monthly payroll of staff members, tabulated feeding program data, budgeted and projected costs, processed tax forms in adherence to policy in Rwanda, implemented strategic inventory and tracking systems, assisting the organization with daily operations
  • Assisted in language translations in French, English and Kinyarwanda, resolving concerns among staff and students
