Hello everyone, my name is Brendan Chan. I’ve been born and raised in Vancouver, and am currently enrolled at UBC as a fourth year Biochemistry major. Currently, I’m looking to get a secondary degree in Computer Science, in order to advanced my career and combine my two passions.

My academic interests include protein and membrane biochemistry, specifically the methods around how we can leverage protein and cell membrane behaviour to help administer drugs specifically to certain targets. I’m also significantly interested in software development. I’ve previously worked with Python, C++, and C#. I’ve also briefly touched upon web development, although admittedly my skills and experience are quite lacking within that department.

For my professional interests, I hope to one day be able to contribute to computational-based protein structure predictions. Mathematical predictions for these specific elements can help  greatly increase the speed at which we test various drugs and medicines for potential diseases, and I hope to one day be a key part of this frontier.
