English 301, Technical Writing, is a different variety of English course to one that I’ve ever taken before, or one that had ever been directly suggested to me. However, I think that the idea of technical writing is incredibly underrated and at least as valuable as the other English courses that I have taken in the past. Although, as an English major, it is incredibly important to learn how to analyze literature and explain and relay information through comparison and outer analysis. It is also extremely important to learn the ins and outs of business communication other correspondences, and reports. Although I feel as if I have gained a really solid education in terms of studying literature, I definitely feel as if my more formal and professional writing that lies outside of the direct educational sphere has been definitely lacking. I look forward to learning much more about what it means to write professional correspondences and to effectively communicate outside of a specifically structured essay.
