Provincial Health Services Authority: Info Session

Provincial Health Services Authority is hosting a virtual info session. The virtual event will take place over an hour and PHSA will be inviting the hiring leaders from our BC Children’s Hospital Inpatient units such as Medical, Surgical, Mental Health, Oncology and Nursing Resource Team.

This will be an excellent opportunity for the students to ask questions and learn how to develop their pediatric career.

Standardized Simulation-Based Learning Project

Dear BSN students,

We write to introduce you to the Standardized Simulation-Based Learning Project.

This project is aimed at evaluating students’ experience on the effectiveness of simulation, and evaluation of the learning environments from the students’ perspectives. In this project, we are interested in recruiting registered BSN students in the School of Nursing, University of British Columbia (Vancouver) who have undergone learning activities where standardized simulation-based learning was used as a teaching tool in Terms 1 and 2 of the 2022/23 academic years. You are receiving this email because you are eligible to participate in this study when it commences in mid-October 2022.

This project will enable the program leaders to identify strengths and lapses and to improve the standardized simulation-based learning program to enhance teaching and learning.

2022 Marion Woodward Lecture

The UBC School of Nursing is pleased to announce the 54th annual Marion Woodward Lecture on Thursday, October 20, 2022.

Across North America, we are living through fires, smoke, heat, and flooding, each of which impacts the physical and mental health of individuals, families, and communities. The Marion Woodward Lecture, Climate, Health, and Healthcare: The World Needs Nurses Now, and Symposium panel discussion will consider opportunities for nurses to engage with these challenging issues.

  • Birgit and Ingrid CURREY Award in Nursing

All 4th Year Students (Currently in Term 4 – September / 2022W1) are eligible to apply. In addition to academic merit, all awards recognize volunteerism, community service, leadership, student affairs, extracurricular activities, and a commitment to the nursing profession or community.
