The FRIENDS program was created based on effective program for anxiety disorders and can be used at primary, secondary and tertiary prevention levels. These programs are available in three age levels Fun FRIENDS which is Kindergarten and grade one, child which is grade four and five and youth which is for grade six and seven. It teaches children the skills needed to effectively cope with anxiety, builds emotional resilience, problem-solving abilities self-confidence. The FRIENDS program can be used with large populations and can be administered by teachers, psychologists or other appropriately trained persons. Some of the changes observed in students who participated in the FRIENDS program are increased confidence, ability to cope with stress, ability to cope with fear, enhanced social skills, ability to communicate better with adults, boost self esteem and become generally happier and more enthusiastic (The FRIENDS Program). The programs include a variety of lessons and activities to complete at home and in the classroom. It focuses on identifying feelings and emotions, relaxation techniques and positive thoughts.
