Nature Walk and Halloween Preparations!

In the morning we went for a walk! What a beautiful, crisp and sunny day it was! We spotted a squirrel in the park, saw geese birds flying in the sky and chased marine fog. Then we were catching the leaves falling from the tries and measured with our body parts how far they had flown away (25 m. far off the tree in fact!). We documented our weather parameters when we got back to the classroom later on. What a busy and fun morning it was!

English LA

Units: Underwater World (Science), Letter Formation (English Langauge Arts)

Lesson: Compound Nouns & Sea Creatures

Please note: this lesson was designed for preschoolers, primary students and is also suitable for ELL.

Once the children have learned some of the basic names of the sea creatures and know how they look in the real life, it would be interesting for them to play a little game on compound nouns and imagine what those creatures would look like if they were created in such a different funny way.

Please see a video below for the instructions on how to play the game.

I also wrote my first English poem today! What a fantastic and busy day it was today! Whew!
