I remember this paintings because it’s so impressive one. We can tell there is a Asian boy (probably a Chinese boy) leaning against the wall and he is looking us with wistful eyes. Thinking of the situation, he might be playing hide and seek, or trying to surprise us.
If I look carefully, this man is smiling a little. The man might smile toward this painter. I suppose that the painter wanted to draw this man, but the painter did not remember what the man’s appearance was really about. Therefore the painter drew the man a little bit unclearly and hid his body into wall.
I don’t know why this face is unclear and this paint make me scared. He looks like a Buddhist monk.
The Asian boy tries to tell us something but he is not a dignified attitude, so we cannot understand what he want to say. However we have to give a chance for the people who do not have power to complain to someone.
I guess this guy hid himself behind the wall, because he wanted to try to eavesdrop on private conversations from someone. However, I don’t know why his face is so unclear.
The man is looking this way without saying anything. I think he needs some help, but he is not brave enough to come over and ask somebody for help. That’s why the painter expressed a darkness behind him.
This picture shows that the child want to hang out with other kids and try to make surprise them. this child looks exited to surprise them.
At first, I thought he looks smiling. However, I found his lonliness eues when I see the picture deeply. I guess he seess playing children far away and envys them.
I think this man or boy gazes at one group which he want to join. However he cannot join it because he do not have courage of asking them. I also think he is Chinese or Indian.
At first, I thought the man looks like a Buddhist monk and he is looking in at the corner. However, the title is “cornered”, so, is he got close behind by somebody?
There are bright sky and dark inside. The contrast is really clear. May be the artist of this picture wanted to express the guy who are likely to go out from the dark place. the artist wanted to cheer the guy I guess.
