I feel like the way to draw the two people of this picture is unusual but artistic. Does anyone have idea of what the painter wanted to describe in the picture? In my opinion, yellow one is showed as baby, on the other hand white one is his/her mother. However the baby has not same skin colour as its mother because its father is not white man.
I noticed that these two people are drawn in a very differet ways. The right woman looks dressed up and made up beautifully, on the other hand, the left man looks shabby and tired. Moreover, the colours of their background are different. Thus I felt that their social status are completely different.
I cannot image the exact meaning of this picture, but they look like sad and the man tries to convey something to the women. I think the man describe as a poor Asian man, because of his yellow skin and poor cloth. The gap between rich and poor is expressed in this picture.
I think it means yellow person and white person. I feel white woman is described beautiful, and yellow guy is expressed ugly. Did the painter express the racial discrimination? In fact, there is no body who is really yellow colored or no one who has such long eyelashes. He/she exaggerated each feature.
