Join the conversation…

As student affairs professionals, we continue to explore what it means to do this work in the Canadian context. Although we have a great deal in common with our colleagues in North America and beyond, there is much that makes us unique. Building on our remarkable history and the work of our colleagues, the CACUSS Identity Project provides a special opportunity for us to construct this understanding together. It is our opportunity to articulate our collective vision for our professional organization, to develop a strategic plan that will carry us through the next 5 years and to build our organizational capacity to achieve our goals.

To help frame this dialogue, the CACUSS Board commissioned a paper that attempts to position the field of student services in Canada both as a field of practice and as a federation of professionals, and CACUSS as an organization in the context of the 21st century. Leaders in Learning provides a wonderful starting point for our conversation.

While the CACUSS 2011 Conference provides a wonderful opportunity to engage our members, we recognize that many of us are not able to attend the conference each year. We are committed to ensuring that all CACUSS members have meaningful opportunities to participate in this conversation over the coming months. We hope that you will take us up on this invitation to share your thoughts.
