This weeks lecture continued to discuss health geography, but probed deeper into the role of GIS in health geography.
The lecture revolved around 4 major GIS applications in the field of health geography:
- epidemiology – helping to visualize and predict trends
- environmental hazards – explores mitigation and causation
- modelling health services – display inequalities across space
- identifying health inequalities – often works in conjunction with modelling health serivces
Health geography applications often use different types of regression analysis and network analysis.
