Dear the Tsq’escenemc,
Canim Forest Services is a team of five UBC Faculty of Forestry students who are currently working towards graduation. Our team members have come together from around the world and we have wide range of interests and experience. Part of our program includes a project where the University of British Columbia, Faculty of Forestry is partnering with T’exelcemc Nation to come up with plans to manage the landbase for desired outcomes. To do so, we are very interested in meeting members of your community and learning from one another on the dates of January 23rd and 24th.
We are eager to learn about your culture, community, values and vision for the future. Canim Forest Services has industry experience in the fields of forestry harvest planning and silviculture with a strong background knowledge of modern forest practices. We offer our knowledge and abilities to assist you in producing management plans for you land. By learning about who the T’exelcemc peoples are, we will gain a deeper understanding of how we can help your community and forge a invaluable relationship for years to come.
At the end of this project, we will compile a video that documents everything we’ve learned in our time together. This video will be available for viewing along with all other delieverables in the Spring. We look forward to meeting with you and sharing who we are with each other.
Sincerely,
-The Canim Forest Services Team
