Link to Joanne’s blog entry: Technology as Solution
Technology has indeed made a huge contribution to the rather simpler life we have now. Ironically, though, I agree that technology has also affected our lives in a negative aspect. Say for example, the internet. It has helped everyone, more or less. We all have an easier time finding sources, researching about almost everything, etc. However, it has also been in some cases, the silent but definitely deadly tool to destroy someone. Furthermore, is it also the reason to the seemingly increasing laziness of most people? I would say yes but to a certain extent.
Instead of searching the library for books, everyone just uses the internet. Instead of going to malls to buy things, people just buy them online. These are signs of “laziness” we have acquired because of the internet, but they are also signs of the huge convenience the internet has brought to us. As for me, I would rather use the easier way around rather than go back to the basics and waste a lot of time trying to accomplish something that would give the exact same result as taking the easy route.
