With a business’ main goal, which is to maximize profit, more often than not, upon obtaining this, ethics is unfortunately ignored. How can we really balance out these 2 important aspects of business?
Chris MacDonald talks about a number of issues regarding business ethics in his blog. As we discussed in class, business ethics is essential for the identity of a business and the impression consumers have on the business. Furthermore, this is also important with regards to the employees of the business as the success and growth of the business heavily depends on them. It is interesting to note that some business owners still have the humility to stick to these ethics even if it might be a hindrance to the profit-maximizing goal.
