Industrial associations are organizations that represent collective needs and interest of industries; they play a key role in society, facilitating the communication and interaction with the increasing number of stakeholders that have an impact for the successful and sustainable develop of businesses.

Particularly in the Mining Industry in British Columbia, the most important industrial associations are described as follow:

1. Mining Association of British Columbia (MABC): The BC’s voice of Mining since 1901, is one of the oldest associations in the province and represent coal, metal, industrial mineral companies and smelters in British Columbia with 52 associated companies.

2. Mining Suppliers Association of British Columbia (MSABC): Formed in 1986, it comprises suppliers, contractors and consultants to the BC mining industry with 210 associated companies.

3. Association for Mineral Exploration British Columbia (AMEBC): Established in 1912, AME BC represents thousands of members including geoscientists, prospectors, engineers, entrepreneurs, exploration companies, suppliers, mineral producers, and associations who are engaged in mineral exploration and development in BC and throughout the world. AMEBC celebrated 100th anniversary in an emotive and entertaining gala the past November 27th.
