Individual Professional Development Reflection:

Throughout the course of GEOB270, I have obtained a number of skills, knowledge and know-how on navigating ArcGIS and datum – including those of parse filtering/refining open sourced data, generating maps with ArcGIS analysis tools, or developing comparative studies with census data. Much of the abilities I have acquired is beneficial to my future endeavours in Environmental Design, and is incredibly useful in my career of landscape architecture, urban planning or urban design. By engaging in geographical information sciences, I would be able to apply this integrated skill set to analysing the environment, urban infrastructures and other spatial landscapes that are influential in our current developments. Not only has GIS engaged my analytical abilities, it has provided me with a unique method of presenting and visualising data, and will be critical in my understanding of our ever-changing world.
