We’re proud to present the following poster from afar at the Improving University Teaching – Annual Global Education Conference for University Teaching. The research herein represents a two-year collaboration with four excellent (then) undergraduate students: Manya Bansal, India Pereira, Jeanie Woo, and Aster Huang. Our title is:
Centering Students when Evaluating Impacts of a Departmental Grade Alignment Policy
We co-designed the research and collaborated on data collection using our Psychology Department’s HSP (Human Subject Pool). The students led the qualitative analyses of their peers’ responses, with guidance from me along the way. We are still working on refining the themes in writing, but this poster shares our main ideas so far. An online poster was the most accessible medium for everyone to be involved in its presentation. Both the topic and process are aimed at shifting our departmental culture toward more collaboration with students on policies that impact them. Have a look!
