For the past six years, I have asked Psychology\u2019s Teaching Assistants to complete the sentence, \u201cAn excellent TA\u2026\u201d both before and after TA Development Day. While completing the program evaluation report for our 2013\/2014 TA\/TF programming<\/a>,\u00a0I pasted the\u00a0data from almost 200 TAs into Wordle<\/a> to produce these word clouds. The larger the word, the more frequently it was mentioned. I\u2019m delighted to see student(s)<\/em> are at the heart of what TAs consider to be excellence!*<\/p>\n

The words students<\/em>, professional<\/em>, organized,<\/em> knowledgeable<\/em>, approachable<\/em>, learning, course, enthusiastic, <\/em>and responsible <\/em>jump out to me. Professional<\/em> is a quality we try to emphasize very much on TA Day, and it seems like TAs are picking up on that theme.<\/p>\n
