My name is Cattleya (hence the title of this blog), but I go by Charlotte. I am French\/Thai, and I grew up in Cambodia. Coming to UBC, I expect to graduate with a Bachelor of Media Studies. I will be starting my UBC journey in September of 2015, or maybe a bit earlier since I will also be attending Jump Start. As I am writing these words, I am still in my bedroom in Phnom Penh (Cambodia) and I’m preparing my Big Move (yes, with capital letters) to Vancouver. I’ve never set foot\u00a0on the American continent so this is a first for me.<\/p>\n

\nThis blog isn’t just about courses and UBC, it is also about life in Vancouver and my personal growth. I want this blog to be a source of inspiration for newbies or even current students. I want this blog to be a place where you can find honest feedback and journal entries on events I attend.
\nAlso, you might find some posts finances-related : I am going to UBC with loans and as of now, I still have no idea on how I am going to fund the entirety of my studies. I know I am not the only one in this situation, especially if you’re an international student, like me, and tuition prices are\u00a0sky-motherfucking-high. But hey, nothing is impossible.<\/p>\n
