This past week was the first week of university, and along with that, my 18th birthday. Being French this was supposed to be a big deal since it is the age of majority in France, and I had being waiting for this since my earliest age. Freedom, independence, responsibility, I’ve always wanted that ! But hey guess what ! I’m in BC and the age of majority here is 19. But anyway, I did celebrate and made it memorable. There was the AMS’ Ultimate Paint Party that night but I by-the-bye did not go. Instead, I had my first day of university and ate with the friends I have made in the past few weeks, including my roommates.<\/p>\n

I would say this past week was rather intense. First Imagine Day, then first day of class for most (not me) and then weekend of homecoming ! I was a bit shocked by the amount of reading that I have and the amount of work this would mean. For some reason, I thought that this would be easy and that I would be able to get involved in clubs and get a job and volunteer, all of that in the same time. Now I don’t know, though I am still striving to do that, even if that means not being able to attend all of the events I want to. I guess this is when prioritizing comes in, but then you have to know what your priorities are. This is something I am still questioning so bare with me. I’ve always imagined my university experience being with a lot friends, clubs, restless nights, late adventures, awesome profs etc. With all that I want to do, I’m not sure all the late nights will be realizable. But I guess I shouldn’t plan those out. Their spontaneity is what makes them so special, and they’re all about taking a break from the rest and screaming\u00a0“Suck ass !” to the world. This is not a priority I should be making.<\/p>\n
I am going to make a “First impression” post for each course that I have.<\/p>\n
One thing I have been telling myself is to not be one of those who never get off-campus. Vancouver is an amazing city and I’ll write more in depth about this idea in future posts…<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
