September 12th was Homecoming, opposing UBC and Regina Rams (from Saskatchewan FYI) . I didn’t go to all the events that were previous to the game, but I did go to the game itself. Now, let me first warn you that, because of my absolute ignorance of the rules of American football, I left after the first half of the game.<\/p>\n
But I would still advise you to go to any Thunderbird game there is just because the vibrant atmosphere is worth the move and money. People scream “Let’s go T-birds let’s go !” with all their heart. Everyone is wearing blue. Many have a blue and a yellow paint streak on both their cheeks to support the team. There are food trucks just at the entrance that sell Thai food, hot-dogs, pop-corn, hamburgers and what not. There is music, photographers for the Ubyssey, a commentator and supporters everywhere. \u00a0 As the sun goes down, the sky turns orange above the stadium. If you are lucky enough, you can have a seat in the venue, but if not, you can sit on the grass on the opposite side which is not too bad I guess.<\/p>\n
So here’s my advice : go to T-birds games, learn the rules or go with someone who knows them, go with awesome friends, cheer the team, scream and dance, have fun.<\/p>\n
