iSpring is an extension for Powerpoint that allows users to dub over, record, insert quizzes into, and alter Powerpoints into a savable format – extending the functionality of the program so that presenters can better use it in classroom presentations.

Cvmaker:

CV Maker Logo

CV Maker is designed to create easy Curriculum Vitae for job hunting or professional purposes, which essentially a longform resume. I’ve used this in my Planning 10 class as an alternative for students who aren’t as tech savvy with MS Office. You can also use it yourself, of course!

Hola:

Hola Logo

Sometimes IP Blocking based on your region or country is a problem when it comes to having the full range of the internet at your fingertips. Of course, this barrier also can prevent educational uses of content. Hola functions as a proxy service for Google Chrome and other web browsers that gives you a temporary IP address based in another country to grant different accesses to that content. It’s also great if your tinfoil hat isn’t working well enough to stop Big Brother from tracking your movements online.

Socrative:

An application for student feedback in the classroom. Can operate much in the same fashion as an Iclicker to prompt student feedback while a class is occurring.

Wikimedia Commons:

A Public Domain image repository for various Wikipedia entries and other resources.

PublicDomainPictures.net:

Public Domain Pictures, A website for searching public domain images for students to use.
