“Community Talks” is a regular speaker series open to all students and faculty in UBC’s Coordinated Arts Program (CAP). The series began in September 2022 with the goal of introducing CAP students to a light-touch form of “Community Engaged Learning”; the series aims to help students connect their classroom learning to work happening off campus. Invited speakers explore themes relevant to the five CAP streams; each event in the series puts two speakers in conversation with a student moderator. The series highlights CAP’s focus on researching and learning in community, both within and beyond UBC.
