{"id":1013,"date":"2016-06-03T10:01:41","date_gmt":"2016-06-03T17:01:41","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.ubc.ca\/cfls\/?p=1013"},"modified":"2016-06-03T10:03:37","modified_gmt":"2016-06-03T17:03:37","slug":"special-issue-fighting-feminism-organized-opposition-to-womens-rights","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.ubc.ca\/cfls\/special-issue-fighting-feminism-organized-opposition-to-womens-rights\/","title":{"rendered":"Special Issue &#8211; International Journal for Crime, Justice and Social Democracy"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This special edition of the<a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.qut.edu.au\/crime-and-justice-research-centre\/2016\/06\/01\/latest-issue-of-the-international-journal-for-crime-justice-and-social-democracy-available-now-2\/\"><em> International Journal for Crime, Justice and Social Democracy, <\/em>volume 5(2)<\/a> entitled &#8220;Fighting Feminism: Organized Opposition to Women&#8217;s Rights&#8221;, is now available.<\/p>\n<p>This issue presents an additional series of papers produced by scholars who participated in the workshop entitled <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.ubc.ca\/cfls\/key-themes-insights-mens-groups-challenging-feminism\/\">&#8220;Men&#8217;s Groups: Challenging Feminism&#8221;<\/a>. The workshop,\u00a0organized by Susan B Boyd, Professor Emerita and then\u00a0Chair in Feminist Legal Studies at the Allard School of Law, UBC, aimed to bring together feminist scholars from multiple disciplines and multiple national contexts to explore a source of resistance to feminism that has been largely overlooked in scholarly research: the growing number of nationally situated and globally linked organizations acting in the name of men&#8217;s rights and interests which contend that men are discriminated against in law, education and government funding, and that feminism is to blame for this.<\/p>\n<p>This volume is a companion to the special issue of the <a href=\"http:\/\/muse.jhu.edu\/issue\/33394\"><em>Canadian Journal of Women and the Law <\/em>volume 28(1)<\/a>.
