Class 4 Math LD

Math LD: 6-7% prevalence

Types of error patterns:

  • Number sense
  • Numeracy error
  • Math fact error
  • Operand error (understanding operations)
  • Problems following procedures
  • Place value error- ex. Columns misaligned
  • Regrouping error- borrowing etc.

Accomodations

  • Tables/Basic Fact reference or number line
  • Use of calculator – also to teach them how to use a calculator to be succesful in daily math needs
  • Check and teach self-advocacy skills, metacognitive skills, initiation (asking for help, starting etc. EF skill)
