Hello! Midterm season already, eh? Here are my three favourite blogs with a short blurb about each one:

  1. Storytelling in the Digital Age (Assignment 1:3)
The reason I chose this blog is because I felt like it really helped me find my blogging “voice.” I really enjoyed my train of thought in this post and the examples I found about how Indigenous storytellers are finding new ways to communicate their cultures within this crazy digital age.
  2. Familiar Discomfort (Assignment 2:4)
This blog post was a big moment for me as a Canadian citizen and a UBC student. I did not realize the extent of residential schools in this province–I knew of the atrocities that took place but had no idea that the last school closed so late. I touch on something I labelled as “familiar discomfort” in this blog post, which is an analysis of the inability to comprehend First Stories that I’m really proud of.
  3. How F’s Came Into the World (Assignment 1:5)
I chose this blog post because of how light-hearted and fun it was to write. I feel like a lot of these blog posts revolve around the history of racism and discrimination against Indigenous people in Canada and, while I think that is incredibly important and fantastic to learn about, it was nice to kind of have fun with this blog post! I am a Screenwriting minor, and while this wasn’t screenwriting it is of the same thread and was a really nice, creative outlet.
