{"id":144,"date":"2016-03-14T05:06:13","date_gmt":"2016-03-13T21:06:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.ubc.ca\/christinawtchen\/?p=144"},"modified":"2016-06-20T13:26:14","modified_gmt":"2016-06-20T05:26:14","slug":"inquiry-classroom-implementation","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.ubc.ca\/christinawtchen\/2016\/03\/14\/inquiry-classroom-implementation\/","title":{"rendered":"Inquiry: classroom implementation"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Last Inquiry: how do I implement inquiry based learning in my lessons?<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Continue to use students&#8217; background knowledge and when planning for lessons<\/li>\n<li>Think about how I might ask questions, what questions I would ask (the students and my input into lesson design)<\/li>\n<li>I want my students to walk into their classroom feeling comfortable and confident to safely express their feelings, thoughts and needs with each other as well as to their teachers.<\/li>\n<li>I want to ensure my students are all given an opportunity to be positively heard and that their opinions and ideas are valued.<\/li>\n<li>I will strive to listen attentively and maintain a positive and trusting relationship to allow open communication between school, student and their families.<\/li>\n<li>I want my students to have a sense of pride in themselves and realize the value of questions by modeling respect for each other\u2019s ideas. (e.g. listen when others speak encourage questions)<\/li>\n<li>I want them to realize that the classroom is an inviting learning space.<\/li>\n<li>I will model some ways of forming questions.
