———————————————————-

At a young age, I loved the colour blue.  It was such a beautiful, creamy, and sweet tasting colour.  I had to eat it but I didn’t know where I could find the colour blue to eat.  Presented with such a dilemma at the tender age of 3, I decided to draw with the colour blue instead. Since then, my life has gone from wanting to be an astronaut to a paleontologist.  I rejected the idea of being an artist at the age of 6 because “artists don’t make money”.  Despite my pragmatism, I never gave up my artistic pursuits.  I continued to study art throughout my years in high school and in university. After graduating, I felt like I had learned a lot about art and life but did not know how to articulate this to others.  Through the medium of art, I was able to convey powerful messages about contemporary and personal issues that I never knew I had the power to do. I wanted to go back to that and teach the future generation of artists to do the same thing.  After working with students in a non classroom setting after graduation, I knew that something was lacking.  I knew that I wanted to be creative with them….but how? Teaching.  Teaching was the answer. So here I am.
