At a young age, I loved the\u00a0colour blue.\u00a0 It was such a beautiful, creamy, and sweet tasting colour.\u00a0 I had to eat it but I didn’t know where I could find the colour blue to eat.\u00a0 Presented with such a dilemma at the tender age of 3, I decided to draw with the colour blue instead. Since then, my life has gone from wanting to be an astronaut to a paleontologist.\u00a0 I rejected the idea of being an artist at the age of 6 because “artists don’t make money”.\u00a0 Despite my pragmatism, I never gave up my artistic pursuits.\u00a0 I continued to study art throughout my years in high school and in university. After graduating, I felt like I had learned a lot about art and life but did not know how to articulate this to others.\u00a0 Through the medium of art, I was able to convey powerful messages about contemporary and personal issues that I never knew I had the power to do. I wanted to go back to that and teach the future generation of artists to do the same thing.\u00a0 After working with students in a non classroom setting after graduation, I knew that something was lacking.\u00a0 I knew that I wanted to be creative<\/em> <\/strong>with them….but how? Teaching.\u00a0 Teaching was the answer. So here I am.<\/p>\n
