Writer’s text:

Naturally, light varies in the cricket’s natural environment because the earth is constantly rotating around the sun and hence during a 24 hour period, the cricket will experience varying intensities of light ranging from less than 1 lux to over 100,000 lux.

Writer’s comment:

But I’ve learned this in class, and so, it was considered personal knowledge. … Well, the instructor told us… for example, in light, in temperature that they would encounter in natural habitats. Because I learned it from her, I didn’t feel that I needed to cite directly from my TA, …  because this is information I didn’t obtain from the textbook, I just knew either by vocal or experience. I didn’t feel that I needed to quote it specifically. … For something I know myself based on previous learning, I would consider my personal knowledge.
