About Seasons of Life
I initially thought of the idea to create this show when I realized my own transition of music types during the ongoing COVID Pandemic. In many ways, my music taste and understanding of the world changed with different milestones of the pandemic (something I only realized when a meme on Instagram reminded me tiger king was a thing).
This (and allegedly a little bit of legal cannabis) caused me to question the music that my friends through their own seasons of life. I immediately talked to Aidan about creating a radio show and…
Thus ‘Seasons of Life’ was born! a sentimental radio show with commentary surrounding the type of music guests listened to during different times in their lives.
The goal of Seasons of Life is simple. Ask guests to create a playlist for a ‘season’ of their life. How they interpret that prompt will shape how the show unfolds and the questions that I ask. Feel free to tweet during the show @citrsol.
If you would like to contact a guest directly please go to the contact form and I will forward your information to them, they are not obliged to reply and will reach out at their own comfort level (That said they are very friendly people who I’m sure would love to hear what you have to say, or answer any questions).
About the Hosts
Sean Roufosse
My name is Sean and I am a fourth-year geography student here at UBC. I love long rides on the 99 B line and pretending to be hipster trash (Maybe I’m not really pretending at this point). I was born on unceded Sto:lo territory, in what many people know as Abbotsford BC.
I grew up listening to Portugal. the Man, Grouplove, The Neighbourhood, The Police, Fleetwood Mac, and soooo much more! All of these artists shaped how I saw and interacted with music, and to this day form a base as to how I understand music more generally. Lyrics are generally very important to how I relate to a song. Folk songs that tell a story are my favorite, but I listen to a lot of different types of music as well! Stay tuned and you might hear more about who I am!
