\u201cEngaging the Mundane: Practicalities and Possibilities of Everyday Spaces\u201d\u00a0<\/strong><\/h3>\n

An in-class fireside chat featuring co-artistic directors, June Fukumura and Keely O’Brien, of Popcorn Galaxies<\/a> (an experimental theatre company) was organized with the aim to highlight the neglected, ignored, taken-for-granted urban spaces in the city; and, moreover, to spark conversation around the challenges and opportunities of activating these spaces for public good.<\/p>\n

Drawing on their collaborative practice as well as individual portfolio work, Keely and June illuminated the practicalities and possibilities of engaging mundane spaces through innovative theatre creation and community engagement. The immersive fireside chat session involved Keely speaking in-class and June joining remotely via Facetime.<\/p>\n

The fireside chat was followed by a fast-paced segment in which student teams delivered a 2-minute elevator pitch of their projects to invited guests for constructive feedback.<\/p>\n
