I am currently a third year undergraduate student reading Civil Engineering at University College London, and am spending this year on exchange at UBC. My major interests in the discipline are systems engineering and project management; these have culminated from my time spent as a Project Manager on a mock construction project building a cable stay footbridge in the summer of 2012. I’m confident I can bring forward skills I developed on this project to the Sky Harvest initiative. I have also been fortunate enough to have 2 months work experience with a Civil Engineering consultancy in Oxford, England, giving me an insight into both sides of the industry! Away from Civil Engineering, I am a keen outdoor sports enthusiast – I have relished the close proximity of Whistler to Vancouver, skiing in my free time. I am also a flatwater kayaking coach, and am a huge fan of spending my afternoons kayaking in False Creek.

I am currently a 3rd-year undergraduate student of Applied Science (Civil Engineering) at UBC. I transferred to UBC from Camosun College in Victoria, British Columbia, where I completed a diploma in Civil Engineering Technology in 1999, and an advanced diploma in 2005. Since then I have spent the last 7 years living in the US and working my way up from a design drafter for a design/build tenant improvement contractor to my current position as a Project Manager for OLYMPIQUE Facade Access Consulting (www.facadeaccess.com), who continues to employ me part-time while I am attending university. I am very interested in sustainability and am very excited to be working on the Sky Harvest project! In my free time I enjoy reading, discovering new music and outdoor activities such as hiking and golf.

Hello, my name is Kevin Rahardjo and I am currently a third year undergraduate civil engineering student at UBC. Having grown up in a family of engineers, I have developed an interest in civil engineering at a very young age. Particularly, my subdivisions of interest lie in the structural and management aspects of civil engineering. For the past three summers, I have spent my days doing internships for various offshore companies, such as ConocoPhillips and Tamarin. In those internships, I did various tasks, ranging from technical to office work. Away from school and work, I love to golf and play table tennis with some friends. It is my hope that I can contribute these skills I have acquired and apply it to the upcoming CBEL project with Sky Harvest !

My name is Joanne Chow and I am a third year student majoring in civil engineering. For the past eight months, I have been working abroad in Hong Kong for a contractor in a tunnelling project. It was very fun working in my hometown and living on my own for the first time.
For this course, I chose to work in a CBEL project to gain more project management experience, and to learn more about other civil engineering options such as green engineering and sustainability. I am really excited to work one of the Sky Harvest projects with my team!
