I had the privilege of being able to spend my 12 weeks of practicum at Langley Fundamental Middle and Secondary school. It was a wonderful experience and the amount of things I learned in detail could fill a book, although I won’t be writing that book here on this blog I will be giving the highlights of the experience here. While I was at there I had the opportunity to teach two semestered classes physics 11 and 12 as well as two linear science 9 classes. Below are some of the things we got up to in class, as well as my work with the school musical Shrek where myself along with a team of students built a dragon costume.
- Physics 12, kinematics and dynamics balloon cars
- A very creative student design encorporating a second balloon for more power
- Physics 12, kinematics and dynamics balloon cars
- The most aerodynamic balloon car modeling it’s design after a realistic car.
- The beginning work in progress for the dragon costume for the school’s production of Shrek the musical
- The frame with legs and arms added
- It’s starting to come together
- The dragon now has wings
- The final product. Me along with the students who helped with construction, faces blacked out due to lack of photo consent.
- A very thoughtful and personal thank you gift for some of the musical parents.
