My name is Courtney Markin, and I am a physics teacher. I have a Bachelors of Science in Physics and my Bachelors of Education from the University of British Columbia. I have worked with Geering Up Engineering and Science for Kids for the past few years and have developed a passion for STEM education. Within my physics degree I came to realize the necessity of teaching technology literacy as well as critical thinking and problem solving skills in education. That being said my dream would be to teach physics, programming and engineering design classes at the high school level to prepare students with these skills prior to university.

I am writing this blog to document my journey with education, mostly for myself but also for others. It is important for me that I remember the experiences I have now during the BEd program and as a new teacher so I can reflect on what I am doing and how I can improve and keep growing as an education.
