This interactive map contains the results of the two sub-indexes (physical, socio-economic) and the final combined coastal sensitivity index. A layer of the major settlements of Vancouver Island and their approximate corresponding index values has been included as a reference.

This map was created using Esri’s ArcGIS Online map-making applications. Due to the limitations of displaying raster datasets and size restrictions on many of the freely available online GIS mapping applications, the results of the sub-indexes and the final combined index were converted to polygon shapefiles for web display purposes. This has resulted in inaccuracies when viewing the index maps at scales greater than approximately 1:50,000. For a closer look at the results, please download the index raster datasets from this link.
