Inheritance tax rate is too high for the next generations of the house to pay.\u00a0 The city does not have money to buy the forest.\u00a0 Also, the next generations work in the company.\u00a0 Some of them prefer to sell the land to realtors.\u00a0 Matsudo city is considered as a &#8220;bed town&#8221; of Tokyo.<\/p>\n<p>I have been member in the &#8220;Juni no kai&#8221; \u6a39\u4eba\u306e\u4f1a, one of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.city.matsudo.chiba.jp\/shisei\/toshiseubi\/midori\/satoyama_hozen.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Matsudo Satoyama Ouendan &#8211; \u677e\u6238\u91cc\u3084\u307e\u5fdc\u63f4\u56e3<\/a> that started by the 12th <a href=\"https:\/\/www.city.matsudo.chiba.jp\/shisei\/toshiseubi\/midori\/satoyamav.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">\u91cc\u3084\u307e\u30dc\u30e9\u30f3\u30c6\u30a3\u30a2\u5165\u9580\u8b1b\u5ea7 &#8211; Satoyama volunteer introduction program<\/a> (only in Japanese) in 2014 that initiated by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.city.matsudo.chiba.jp\/shisei\/organization\/machidukuribu\/midoritohana.html\">\u677e\u6238\u5e02\u3000\u307f\u3069\u308a\u3068\u82b1\u306e\u8ab2\u3000\uff08Matsudo City Green and Flower Department)<\/a> to preserve the remained (limited) green area in Matsudo.\u00a0 A lot of members are retired but still healthy, energetic, and have tons of knowledge.\u00a0 It may win-win target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">\u91cc\u3084\u307e\u30dc\u30e9\u30f3\u30c6\u30a3\u30a2\u5165\u9580\u8b1b\u5ea7 &#8211; Satoyama volunteer introduction program<\/a> (only in Japanese) is held every year.\u00a0 2018 is the 16th year.\u00a0 After completing the program, each cohort has been made their own volunteer group.\u00a0 The working urban forest is a particular urban forest in Matsudo city which owned by the private\/individual owner.\u00a0 The forest owners are usually old and\/or cannot manage the forest by themselves.\u00a0 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.city.matsudo.chiba.jp\/shisei\/organization\/machidukuribu\/midoritohana.html\">\u677e\u6238\u5e02\u3000\u307f\u3069\u308a\u3068\u82b1\u306e\u8ab2\u3000\uff08Matsudo City Green and Flower Department)<\/a> support matching the volunteer groups and landlord.<\/p>\n<p>The problem of the forests in Matsudo are not managed well.\u00a0 Some garbage (furniture etc. must be paid to throw away to proper places) were left by outsiders.\u00a0 Bamboos invade and disturb other native\/non-native plants to grow.\u00a0 It affects ecosystem (diversity).<\/p>\n<p>Matsudo city has <a href=\"https:\/\/www.city.matsudo.chiba.jp\/shisei\/toshiseubi\/midori\/openforest.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Open Forest in Matsudo<\/a> event every on the golden week (national long holiday between end of April and early May in Japan) .\u00a0 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.city.matsudo.chiba.jp\/shisei\/toshiseubi\/midori\/satoyama_hozen.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">M<\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/www.city.matsudo.chiba.jp\/shisei\/toshiseubi\/midori\/satoyama_hozen.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">atsudo Satoyama Ouendan &#8211; \u677e\u6238\u91cc\u3084\u307e\u5fdc\u63f4\u56e3<\/a> participates the event inviting to public to their forest to\u00a0 provide the opportunity 1)connect to nature in their habitat (land-based learning), 2)have experience in the forest (experiential learning), 3)make community within the group, with other groups, and visitors (youth to elder), 4)provide ikigai for the members.<\/p>\n<p>Unfortunately, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.city.matsudo.chiba.jp\/shisei\/toshiseubi\/midori\/satoyama_hozen.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">M<\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/www.city.matsudo.chiba.jp\/shisei\/toshiseubi\/midori\/satoyama_hozen.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">atsudo Satoyama Ouendan &#8211; \u677e\u6238\u91cc\u3084\u307e\u5fdc\u63f4\u56e3<\/a> does not have their own website.\u00a0 However, a young generation group (parents and kids), that uses one of the satoyama ouendan&#8217;s forest, has a blog and Facebook page.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/ameblo.jp\/stgakiyama\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Save the Green Akiyama &#8211; Blog (in Japanese)<\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/save.the.green.akiyama\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Save the Green Akiyama &#8211; Facebook<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Also, Chiba prefecture has a Satoyama
