Structure B allows for a more efficient and intimate forms of communication and would generate a more team oriented working environment.

I would prefer to be PE by my superior as I value his opinion more highly than my peers as my superiors will ideally have more insight/exp.

If I STARTED FROM THE BOTTOM I’d work in B. A has a longer chain of command, requiring more PE and more communication (harder).

I would work in B, because structure A seems to be mostly/too concerned with ranking of its workers unlike B where more people can advance.

I prefer to choose A, if I got a chance reach to the top it may have better performance evaluation.

B) Flatter structures are flexible and focus on empowering all their employees rather than sticking to a certain chain of command.

A has more need for performance evaluation. A would possibly have more quantitative evaluation than B. Work in B more friendly to newcomers ツ

Model B is a superior choice because it allows for more innovation. Model a represents a structure that has a large chain of command.

We’d rather work in Organization A, because our manager would have less people to keep track of, so he is less likely to wrongly evaluate us

A) Less people to control at each level, better performance and understanding of “lower”ranked people. This is more personal

The more wide & deep the org. structure (A), it may have a better performance evaluation than of B since a manager has to evaluate fewer ppl

We would rather work in a B. The performance evaluation in B would be more accurate as you would be compared to a larger group of colleagues

A: performance valuation will be from top down and more one on one. B you would be compared with fellow workers on same level.

B, because its more evenly distributed. More teamwork.

The vertical shape of organization structure A implies that PE will be conducted from boss to employee, while the B is more peer evaluated.

B
– more interconnection in company
– lower people would be impacted with the company’s decisions (indirectly, directly)
– more effective -

A) Because I would rather work more closely with the people around me to achieve a common goal.

A) PE would be done vertically down the hierarchal structure B) PE would be peer based between workers in the same hierarchal rank
-

B) Because people lower in the command chain still feel connected to their leaders them as there is a relatively small chain of command.

I would rather work in a mix of A & B, if I had to choose one – A. A is like that of a bank’s structure, and B more of a Starbucks firm.

What does organizational structure have to do with performance evaluation? How do these 2 structures impact performance?
