E-cigarettes Kodak moment

THE vapoteurs who gathered on a windy island in the Seine on September 19th brandished e-cigarettes in one hand and flyers inciting the populace to defend them in the other. On October 8th the European Parliament is to vote on a proposal to regulate the devices as if they were medical products. Brice Lepoutre, president of the Independent Association of Electronic-Cigarette Users, is outraged. “We are at the dawn of a revolution in the fight against tobacco,” he says

Nowadays, as the awareness of health caring grows rapidly among people,a new revolution is foreseen to come in the industry of tobacco, with the increasingly spread recognizing of e-cigarette .This threat is now faced by companies range from all sizes in the industry of tobacco. Like the development of photo technology drove the kodak out of its business, will this growing sense do the same thing to the industry?

For the company of tobacco, they need to come up with some different products that can make them survive in this competition with time. In my opinion, the tobacco company won’t be totally replaced by the e-cigarettes.There are  certain number of people who’s deeply addicted to the scent of burning tobacco and won’t easily turn to another so called healthier product. These part of market can be called the loyal port’ion, what remains is the part of people who smoke not that much but are always looking for a better explanation for this habit.Such part of market is the vulnerable ones who can easily turn to a new product. The tobacco market must try to promote some ‘healthier’ things to prevent these customers from losing away, and also don’t give on their primary product as they can’t afford to lose the most loyal fan of theirs.
