I. PREPARATION

Before class, please prepare the following:

  1. Read “How do you tackle a ‘wicked’ issue?”, by Robert Ashton (The Guardian, June 2012).
  2. Read “The Problem with Problem Statements”, by Thaler Pekar (Stanford Social Innovation Review, September 10 2012)
  3. Browse the Social Enterprise and Social Venture “Stories of Impact” on Vancity’s website, and choose one company featured there that interests you. Do a little bit more online research about the organization’s business model so you are ready to discuss in class.
  4. Please complete the pre-assessment for Sept. 20 on Canvas.
