Mike Orlandi – https://blogs.ubc.ca/webspaces/2021/09/08/mike-orlandi/

Mike’s attempt at our tenth task, the Attention Economy, reminds me a lot of my experiences with the task. I was incredibly frustrated to begin with and even had my sister try and crack through the eloquent ignorance that went into designing the attention economy web page. Completing the task was hard enough, but I believe Mike’s willingness to persevere and continue to crack at the task for sixteen minutes was terrific. Even though he had not completed the task, his effort and reflection clearly demonstrate the importance of a well-designed web page that negates employing dark patterns to manipulate users. There is a lack of incorporated resources to support why the task was challenging to complete. Although, the essence of his post strongly reflects how important it is to tye in The Laws of UX (2020), as discussed by Jon Yablonski.
